Citizens action

This from our mayor - who has since altered the time to 19.30 - see you all there tomorrow, Thursday, in the square by the post office.

Cordialement.
Christian SOULA.

Night market and a reminder

Return of the Monday night markets... warm, comfortable, loads of friends old and new out having fun :)

Apropos; DONT FORGET

today, between 4 -6, vernissage of my interesting paintings in Quillan - building with the onion  dome next to the Terminus cafe, opposite the station.

See you there!

More food in Esperaza

It was Claudine's idea to have breakfast in the new Argentinian place by the post office, in the square... and a very good idea it was too. This is what is called called a 'French breakfast' - crunchy honey spread on a croissant and loaded with fruit. Brilliant coffee too.

The menu looks good and has vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options - handy to know as  visitors with food issues arrive. They have tables outside, otherwise its takeaway...

Market a little sombre this morning, very nice as ever but not as packed as usual. Maybe le monde have gone to the seaside._

C'est la vie

Kat and Margaret arranged an overnight break so that we could go drawing... they booked this gite in Belvianes, above Quillan, where we worked really really hard, ahem. Great time!! And then I was in the Independent, see below; all our friends invited to the vernissage on the 4th, 16 - 18H, please come...

Monday, phew

Le Healthy last night - with Andy and Lindsay, here to empty their house prior to the sale. Trying to impress on them the need to buy another Esperaza house, smaller and easier to manage. Can't imagine life without them and Max and their friends and family...
Knackered though, due to hanging an exhibition of my paintings in Quillan. It's open till July 8th.

Old baths, opposite the station, by the statue of the Pretre du Trou (which I love). The priest in question got all the Quillan able bodied up in the mountain and hammered a hole through the Pyrenees so traffic could move easily - the tunnel still called the Trou du Pretre. Worth a visit !
