They've landed...

... and we ate them :)

Last nights fish pie created by Margaret, seen here with John  - Hilary and Gracie, Mike and Kat escaped the camera.
I'm oddly frail this morning.

yesterdays twilight

The Rue de la Gare is the latest to be dug up. Disruption is probably massive. But for those of us who live off the Rue, life is quiet; there is a gentle tendancy to dance in the street.

Weekend Toques et Cochers...

Here (I think) is a pdf with all you need for the T and C this weekend, including maps. Hurrah!
-Though alarming to note that the last bus leaves at 8pm. Is this normal? I can't remember -

Here is a picture taken on Sunday of the start of the fishing season. The mighty Aude is swollen with men in big boots.

Monday in the Impasse

Voila - more eating and drinking - Gracie (who cooked the good bits), Jennifer and Robin from St Gobains, John and Margaret newly returned to us and here's Tango being intrepid.

Taking tea with Tango

Nicely cross-cultural tea of cucumber sandwiches, egg mayonnaise and salami, flan, pastries and cake with mucat and tea.

Small fire no-one hurt

The newly re-opened Pattiserie beckoned to me and Kat this morning. We saw a display of  firemen and their engines on the way and assumed it was a practice - they normally happen on a Saturday morning.
After the pain au chocolate we ambled contentedly to the 8a8  and discovered that the boulangerie FourNil had a fire in the night - to the chagrin of the neighbours who were disturbed. Apart from that and the distruption to the bakers trade, all is well.

And Jillys cat has come home. Dehydrated and knackered and terrified, but alive.

A time of miracles...

Look!! EDF said they'd arrive at 10.00am to up the Kilowats (or whatever) in Chez Francois - and they did-
A charming young woman (see pic)  just turned up and did it. Who'd have thought life could be so simple.
When I saw Ole-Bendik just now and told him, he nodded sagely and said, it is a time of miracles.

Here is yesterdays surprise, when the road between the town hall and the station got closed for more cable laying. Great; quiet, empty streets...
