I'm not so sure, Sam. The persistence of war makes me suspect its hard-wired and that its effects are its functions for us as a species. Destroying lives, buildings, art-works - all makes room for more. And the creative side - see how the last european war paved the way for class change and womens emancipation. Plus there are the domestic by-products of war technology. Still don't like it though. Seems insane.
Well done,Nil,a grateful populace salute you!
