Seasons end

Last of this years' night markets, alas - they have become a function of the week, saves having to think about what to eat on Monday :) 

Uncl' Steph did the blues for us - a little low key, as befits the end of  summer. Which BTW is still very hot - everyone hoping for rain soon. Here's this mornings sunrise; shepherds warning?

 Had a small afternoon party yesterday in an attempt to get the last gasp of summer - thanks to all who came, marvellous to relax and review the last months :) Above are Mike, Tristram, Kates back, Ferrens profile...

The evening ended when Jim  honoured me with  a game of Go. He is a major international player and only the large amount of pink fizz I had drunk allowed me to play a full board game with him. It was a transcendental experience.

Surprise guests

Jaspre Bark and Ronnie Hannon, colleagues and collaborators,  appeared last night.with their wonderful daughters Freya and Asherah  to celebrate Freyas exam results - of course we went to the creperie and then of course we sat up late talking, having some 15 years to catch up on. They're off to Monsegur now, thence to Isle de Brexit. Wonderful, just wonderful, to see them and meet the girls.
