Walking without a dog

We'd been hoping to offer this creature a new home - Skippy, not Tim (though of course he is welcome anytime)  The Captain and I still miss our dreadful dog Lily and have been keeping half an eye open for a smaller, biddable version. Skippy seemed a perfect beastie.

That is, until the boss parrot, Rico, saw him. Rico started growling, then barking and screaming, whilst doubling his size. Clearly he has history with dogs. Poor Skippy hid, trembling, behind Tim and the Captain and I realised our dog-loving days were over. Sniff.

Skippy is a rescue dog and still looking for a home if you have no parrots.

A dog less walk by the lake later...

The market was much as ever in these sad days, bit of damp, quite a lot of sun, many friends out and about.

The gossip is  grim though. Several friends and neighbours are infected with the virus. It is definitely in these mean streets.

Gossip is only gossip so there will be no naming of names - but here's wishing everyone well soon and the rest of us must start being more careful.

That said, we gave lunch to Kat and Roland and Robin on Saturday - plenty of spacing and no snogging -

The French government is convening on Weds and we can expect further confinements to be announced Thursday, it seems. Hey-ho. It's for our own good.

Hugs to all. Stay safe.
