Thursday night splendor

Laura gave her first Esperaza dinner last night, with Tristan's help - Dave and Dee, Nel and Pete and me and Bob were spolit rotten and are looking forward to many more :) Welcome to the tribe, Laura...

On a practical level the evening was especially welcome as the night before was something of a damp squib. Bob and I decided, late, to go to the Creperie and alas, it was full. TyRex was closed. The takeaway opposite Linares is shut down, as is the Fey Tartine by the footbridge. l'Authentique was closed on Wednesdays and St Gobain was in darkness. Quelle horreur!

We ate sandwiches in front of the tele and enjoyed it thoroughly, actually - but still would rather sit round a table with friends, hearing about their lives and sharing a bottle or two.

Other news; The Purple Patisserie owners have birthed their first child, Margo - all well and shes already sleeping through the night. Kat has gone off to Marseille with Roland, back after Xmas; lots of folk are away for the festivities, including me and Bob.
