Saturday Night Japes

Clare and Fran took pity on our isolatedness and invited us to dinner... blessings on them, wonderful night.

We apero'd outside in fleeting sunshine then ate on the terrace under cover - so when the rain came we could enjoy its freshness and the sound of the patterings.

By the time Fran said we should have photographed the first course, it was too late - we'd eaten it. A plate (beautifully arranged, Fran) of prawns and garlic comfit and olives and salad and gherkin and anchovies and cucumber and sundried tomatoes - memorable even without the snap. Boeuf Bourguignon and Quinoa next and  voila! Tarte Tartine. Accompanied by the music of the weather and the conversation of friends catching up.

This morning is grey and dampish. Yet to find out what the market is doing. Better get going - see you there, maybe!
