Days on the river

Really shouldn't brag about all this because people might come and see, which would ruin the place. So here is a bit of river, hereabouts, nothing too specific, where Peter Dunn and I spent yesterday drawing.

First of course was the town heron, cruising upstream. Fish jumped, periodically. Then, amazingly, two golden orioles fell out of the sky, fighting and screaming at each other. Sensational colours, albeit for a brief moment. That was followed by a kingfisher flying into the bank. To top it all, a family of otters appeared - three little ones playing and tumbling over the rocks with their mama.

Earlier a Frenchman who is staying in a caravan on the bank had strode into the river and performed a bunch of yoga. Brr. Naturally I crossed examined him; he says that there must be minerals in the water as his skin has benefited by his bathing. Told him about the arsenic. Homeopathic??
