It was my birthday on the 4th, yesterday, and Bob took me, Pauline and Mark to the Chateau des Ducs de Joyeuse for posh dinner. I was kissed by the maitre d'. and had a profitable conversation with the sommelier, who regrets that Anne de Joyeuse are selling their wines before they are properly aged. He was terribly distressed that they are already selling the 2016 vintage. Struck me that it would be a good idea to buy it now, build a cellar and try and hang onto it for a little time...
We had finished our quite superb meal when the gentle rain started. The staff whisked the tables under cover so efficiently that we can recognise this has been a wet year. If we didn't already know.
And sweet Toby bought MORE cake!!! This is todays breakfast.
